Prostate cancer

Strengthen men’s health, prevent prostate cancer: because early detection saves lives.

Did you know? Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. The earlier it is detected, the better the chances of treatment. Why does screening matter?

  • Prostate cancer often develops slowly and initially causes no symptoms
  • Early detection enables treatment at an early stage
  • Regular preventive care can save lives and prevent consequential harm

Which examinations are available?

  • PSA test: measures prostate-specific antigen in the blood. Elevated values can indicate changes in the prostate.
  • Digital rectal examination: palpation of the prostate by the physician. Can detect nodules or areas of hardening.
  • Ultrasound and MRI: detailed imaging for further assessment.

Who should be examined?

  • Men aged 45 and over with a family history
  • Men aged 50 and over without risk factors
  • In the event of problems passing urine, blood in the urine or pain

How often should one be examined?

  • Annual screening examinations from the age of 50
  • Also more often, and individually adjusted, where the risk is increased or findings are abnormal

It is this simple:

  • Book an appointment for a preventive check-up
  • Discuss individual risks and the appropriate examination plan
